Medina del Campo, the traditional venue of fairs and important economic centre, is the capital of a vast territory consisting of large cereal fields and vineyards (Denomination of Origin Rueda). The area includes many winemaking towns, such as Serrada, La Seca, Pozaldez, or Nava del Rey. The river Duero, as it passes through Castronuño, contains fauna and flora. In fact, it has been officially declared a Natural Reserve.
