The house where Cervantes lived from 1603 to 1606, and where he wrote a part of "El Quijote".
Leading from the hallway at the top of the staircase, are the writer's study, dining room, kitchen and sleeping quarters. All these rooms contain objects from the era.
The rooms have been decorated by using the dowry of Cervantes' wife and his daughter.
A painted panel of the Assumption, chests and bargueños (type of dresser), a representation of the Batalla de Lepanto, cerámica talaverana, a Virgin with Child in alabaster, the portrait of Felip II and various religious pictures.
There is a garden in front of the house.
The house was opened to the public in 1916 as the Biblioteca Cervantina Popular, but in 1947 its installations were renovated and in 1948 it was formally opened.
Cervantes was declared vecino de honor de Valladolid (honorary citizen) in 1962.
