The province of León is a delight for the senses, offering a unique vision of its wealth of culture and architecture to the world. On this route, visitors will discover a series of sites situated on the banks of the rivers Esla and Porma, including magnificent religious buildings that played an important role in the region’s past, although unfortunately today many of them are in ruins, such as the Monastery of Santa Olaja de Eslonza.

However, many of the historic buildings to be seen in the towns of the province of León are in excellent conditions. Examples include the monasteries of Santa María de Sandoval or San Miguel de Escalada, and many smaller churches that are authentic jewels, such as the Romanesque Church of Villarmún, which has witnessed the passing of time since the 12th century.
