Through two successive sewage networks in time, the Roman city of Asturica Augusta evacuated the wastewater to the Jerga and Tuerto Rivers. Due to the growth of the city and the small size of the first network developed, a second network of higher caudal was constructed at the end of I century AD, which use lasted until the V century. It was not until 1866 when it was used again, after being discovered while making the new sewer.
