Slaughterhouse of Avila
Of recent construction, late XIX century, between 1880 and 1980, is a building made with brick, whose author is the architect Angel Cossin. It is next to the monastery of the Encarnacion.
We are talking about a Neo – Mudéjar building which has a room, a central outgoing part destined to housings in the first floor and storing of furs in first floor. A cross section allows us to see how the typical armors of traditional buildings alternate with the iron and materials of present centuries.
It is a place surrounded by a protective environment, a place that we can see as a sample of modern architecture with remnants of inspiration from the past.
