Of the original structure, only the 13th-century tower, emulating the original one, has been preserved. The current church was built in 1621 by Francisco de Praves. Consists of a single nave with chapels between buttresses. Made of brick and masonry, it follows the post Escorial style so popular in Valladolid at that time.

The niche contains a sculpture of Saint Martín by Antonio Tomé (1721).The first chapel on the Gospel side has a Baroque grid dating from the 18th century. It contains the font where the Valladolid poet José Zorrilla was baptised. The sacristy houses a sculpture of Saint Martín sharing his cape with a beggar, made by Gregorio Fernández in 1606, and the bass-relief of the Pieta, by Juni. They are in Museo Diocesano.
