Valley of Tormes - Sierra de Gredos
The Gredos Mountain Range lies in the south of the province of Ávila. Its rocky peaks form one of Ávila’s best-known landscapes and the perfect place for exploring hidden paths, ravines and lagoons. Visitors will enjoy following this route filled with the magic of nature.
Visitors should take the time to stop and enjoy the delicious gastronomy of the villages and towns, including mouth-watering dishes such as patatas revolconas - potato, pepper and pork purée -, El Barco beans or the traditional sweets and pastries. The Tormes Valley and the Gredos Mountain Range are worth exploring unhurriedly, discovering the monuments and the wealth of flora and fauna guaranteed to surprise and delight travellers.
This route includes the following sites of interest: the parish church and El Duque Bridge in Hoyos del Espino, the parish tower of Navarredonda de Gredos, the Gredos Parador-Hotel, Las Paredes Pool in Navalperal de Tormes, the Chapel of Christ, Valdecorneja Castle, the Hanged Man’s Arch, the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the former prison and the clock tower in El Barco de Ávila and the Church of San Pedro del Barco.
