The limited space of the Paleontological Site of Cerro Pelado, as its name indicates, appears located on a set of gentle hills and stony wastelands where only develops a vegetation on small gorse bushes, rosemary and thyme.

The real interest of this desolate place comes from the paleontological site where Europeans first mammal fossils of the Tertiary were discovered.

Very close to the Cerro Pelado, in the foothills of the Sierra Ministras of Soria, are the Pleistocene deposits of Ambrona and Torralba. They are located abundant fossils of mammoths and stone weapons of Paleolithic hunters who captured them.
