The reservoir, located in the Arlanzón river, began to be exploited in 1989 and has a height, from the foundations, of 65 meters and a capacity of 75 million cubic meters. The name of the Uzquiza dam is due to the remembering of one of the three villages which were flooded during the construction of the same.

In the waters of this reservoir, almost all water sports, except motor navigation, are allowed to be practiced.
