Founded in 1218 by King Alfonso IX, it is one of the oldest universities in Europe, along with the University of Bologna, Oxford and Paris. Its prestige has been enormous for long periods of its history, not only in Europe, but also in Latin America.
Currently, she is studying higher education in Law, Medicine, Economics, Pharmacy, Philology, Psychology, Fine Arts, Chemistry ... and many other specialties.
It is possible to visit its Historic Building, from the 14th century, whose façade, added at the beginning of the 16th century, is one of the most representative works of Spanish Plateresque. Inside it you can see the old classrooms, among which is the one of Fray Luis de León, preserved just as it was in the life of the famous professor.
