The building is based on the principles of simplicity, quality and economy. The different forms used by the architect are connected to the idea of pedagogical renovation prevalent in the Spanish fin de siècle movement. There is a clear division between the boys and girls' school, a reflection of the segregated education of the end of the 19th century.
