Palace of the Serrano
This Renaissance palace dates from the 16th century and is located outside the walls. It belonged to the noble Serrano family and has been at the service of various institutions, currently being the Cultural Space of the Ávila Foundation.
On the main doorway the family coats of arms can be distinguished flanking a central medallion and inside the lintelled patio stands out. The palace consists of three heights and granite, masonry and ashlar stone for corners and openings alternated as materials, being able to observe large balconies flanked by pilasters and raised with cornices on the ground and main floors and small windows, also with pilasters in the attic The house preserves an interior garden or "vergel", called the Jardín del Mediodía and a magnificent half-barrel vault. It was renovated managing to combine the old buildings with the new ones using materials such as concrete, glass and wood.
It has recently been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Monument.
