It is the symbol of unity of the region of "Riojilla-Burgalesa", as well as of other towns and devoted to San Vitores which, according to tradition, was martyred and beheaded by Muslims in Quintanilla de las Dueñas.

The church has a single nave, transept and side transepts, of Latin cross shape and chapels on each side. The altarpiece stands out, together with the urn containing the Saint's remains, the Gothic tomb of San Vitores, the refectory and outside, the Shield of Velasco
