The northeast of the province of Burgos and the northwest of Soria have always shared many natural and cultural elements. Among others, having one of the largest and best preserved pine forest masses in Western Europe.

The importance of safeguarding this ecosystem as a source of wealth is the basis of the Pinariega culture that is breathed in the environment, in local folklore and in the way of understanding life in harmony with nature.

In Comunero de Revenga stands the Casa de la Madera, an imposing and emblematic modern construction that masterfully exemplifies integration into the environment and sustainability criteria.

Built entirely of native pine wood and local sandstone with large glass areas to take advantage of solar heat and provide natural light to the interior, conceptually it functions as a multidisciplinary space without giving up the exhibition rooms.

Each of the spaces affects different aspects that help to better understand wood, from the process of formation of the tree as a living being, to the different uses and sustainability criteria of the mountains.

The Wood House also has rooms for temporary exhibitions of painting, sculpture, photography or environmental themes, as well as an auditorium equipped with all the technical means.

The visit to this genuine theme center cannot end without contemplating the surroundings from the viewpoint located at the top of the twenty-one meter high glass tower.
