At the foot of the historic town of Pedraza lies the pleasant area of El Carrascal. There the restored church of San Miguel, where a valuable collection of 17 Romanesque capitals came to light, houses the House of the Imperial Eagle and the Sierra Norte de Guadarrama Natural Park.

The access road is a pleasant walk with a serene atmosphere, but at the same time animated by the sound of the water of the stream and the singing of the birds that live in the riverside forest that surrounds it.

The Park House allows an approach to one of the most emblematic raptor species of the Iberian fauna, whose world population barely exceeds two hundred breeding pairs, of which about thirty fly the skies of Castile and León.

Once inside the old church, the sensation of spaciousness of the platform from which you have a panoramic view of the entire theme center is surprising. This first exhibition space allows you to get to know the Villa y Tierra de Pedraza region up close with its cultural and natural resources.

The Natura 2000 Network, both from all over Europe and from Castile and León, is also present in this first room with resources that include a virtual flight of the eagle, explanatory panels with maps and protected species, educational games and a didactic map with the distribution of the natural resources of the province of Segovia.

Through a staircase you descend to the lower part of the Park House where the imperial eagle is the undisputed protagonist. Different technical and exhibition solutions that include explanatory field notebooks make it possible to observe and evolve the species, a knowledge that gains value through interactive games for children and adults, as well as the interesting audiovisuals that are projected into the room. installed for this purpose.

Back outside, a walk through the gardens with romantic overtones arranged in the old terraces of the church, where a multitude of ornamental and aromatic plants survive, is highly recommended.
