Two million years ago, a period of glaciation modeled the landscape that today occupies the north of the province of Soria, reaching our days as one of the most spectacular natural settings in Castile and León.

The Laguna Negra and Circos Glaciares de Urbión Natural Park has the uniqueness of having been capriciously sculpted by the ice at more than one thousand seven hundred meters of altitude, causing the formation of glacial lagoons such as the Laguna Negra and important forest masses of wild pines, in addition to curious endemisms such as the armeria or the alpine daisy.

The animal kingdom in these latitudes presents a good number of curiosities such as the marbled newt or the green lizard, in addition to the more common ones such as the deer or the wild boar.

After leaving behind the unique village of Vinuesa and on the way up to the Laguna Negra, you will find the Casa del Parque Museo del Bosque surrounded by pine forests. At the entrance, all the information necessary to plan the visit is offered, as well as a complete set and technological devices that include a three-dimensional virtual flight through the Natural Park.

The Sensory Forest is the room where you can listen to the rustling of leaves when walking through the forest and hear the birds singing. The view is filled with the ocher, orange and green colors typical of these forests, making this moment a sensory experience.

The Memory Corner space takes on a leading role here, highlighting the conservation of traditions and the memory of past ways of life, just when the communion between man and nature allowed for very important economic development.

Another interesting room is the one dedicated to the "Resources of the area" in which the wisdom of the people to live off the mountain and for the mountain is revealed, making rational use of it. The "Suertes" is a curious tradition to organize the communal use of the forest in a rational way that has allowed the development of other sources of wealth such as mycology or hunting.

Legends also have their place in the Casa del Parque, since there are many that have been generated around the Black Lagoon and transmitted orally.

Using technological resources, it allows you to enjoy the environment through a camera installed in one of the best viewpoints of the Natural Park, managing it in a simple and intuitive way.

Audiovisual projections and an interpretive tour for those who dare to summit the Pico de Urbión, put the finishing touch to the educational experience proposed by the Casa del Parque.
