Couleur Café emerged as Cuatro Gatos in early 2010 as a classic jazz ensemble (piano, double bass, drums, and vocals), with the aim of introducing this style of music to a wider audience through covers of jazz tunes and other pieces that, while not strictly jazz, are closely related to it. Thus, their repertoire ranges from well-known jazz standards to French chanson, funk, blues, bossa nova, bolero, and even some adaptations of popular hits.
Thus, if there's one thing that characterizes this group, it's their versatility and their personal vision of music, which is none other than trying to breathe new life into old sounds. But not only that: In their eagerness to keep learning and evolving, they constantly explore new trends and incorporate them into their playing, enriching their interpretations and thus ensuring that CCJQ is not just another jazz quartet. Currently, CCJQ has several active projects: TODOS LOS PAISAJES UN PAISAJE, JAZZ DE CINE, and JAZZ CON Ñ. Consult. The members of Couleur Café are experienced musicians with a consolidated professional career, a fact that has facilitated that, in such a short space of time, they have already toured a large part of the Castilian-Leonese geography - with base camp in Salamanca-, passing through Avila, Segovia, Palencia, Valladolid, Zamora, Burgos or Leon, where they have played in such emblematic venues as the Café España in Valladolid, El Corrillo in Salamanca or La Cueva del Jazz in Zamora, as well as in prominent jazz festivals such as the Granjazz Festival in La Granja de San Ildefonso, the "Jazz en la Calle" cycle in Salamanca, the Valladolid International Jazz Festival - "Universijazz" - or the "Noches de Viriato" in Zamora. Couleur Café is: MARISA MARZO on vocals, ALEJANDRO MARTÍNEZ on piano, JAVIER BARRAGUÉS on drums and PANCHO RUANO on double bass.
Genre: Music. Style: Contemporary-jazz. Duration: 75 min.
