Magic Quixote is an innovative educational show that blends music, literature, and magic, revealing to the audience the fantastic relationship between these three arts. It's an ideal concert for families and school groups, in which Quiquemago will illustrate how Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's novel, Don Quixote de la Mancha, inspired many composers throughout history to create their musical works: Georg Philipp Telemann and his Don Quixote suite; Jules Massenet and his opera Don Quixote; Ludwig Minkus and his ballet Don Quixote; and Richard Strauss and his symphonic poem Don Quixote are just a few of the many artists captivated by this sublime novel, considered the most outstanding work of Spanish literature and one of the most important in world literature. Furthermore, the concert highlights the remarkable fact that Miguel de Cervantes used magic when writing his most celebrated work. Urganda the Unknown Magician, capable of changing her outward appearance and foretelling the future; Felicia the Wise, possessor of magic books and enchanted waters; Arcalaus the Enchanter; even Merlin himself predicted the adventures of the knight from La Mancha and appeared to him to tell him how to disenchant the peerless Dulcinea of Toboso; healing potions like Aparicio's Oil, Fierabás's Balm, magic swords, talismans against melancholy, gigantic windmills, armies of lambs, Clavileño the flying horse, winged sorcerers... are just some of the many magical moments that appear in the novel.
