Church of the Vera Cruz
Built in the 16th century, transformed in Baroque times. The design of the front is by Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón.
Originally the church was a hermitage and later was made into a hospital. The interior was reformed in the 18th century and there is a beautiful altarpiece at the apse end with an Immaculate Virgin by Gregorio Fernández or one of his disciples. There is also a processional silver cross in a niche in the Gospel wall by Pedro Benítez.
