"Counting on Music" cycle, with José Luis López Antón.
The "Telling Music" initiative is a proposal for a musical appreciation talk led by the Ávila-born conductor José Luis López Antón, head of the Avila Symphony Orchestra. Considered one of the brightest promises of the new generation of orchestra conductors in Spain. He has also conducted the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (ORTVE), the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra (OSCyL), the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM), the Navarra Symphony Orchestra, the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra, the Verum Orchestra, the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra, the Málaga Symphony Orchestra, the Castellón Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Segovia Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the Zamora Youth Symphony Orchestra, the COSCyL Contemporary Music Ensemble, and the In Crescendo Children's Orchestra of the OSCyL socio-educational project. In addition, he has conducted in major concert halls such as the National Auditorium of Music in Madrid, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona and the Miguel Delibes Auditorium in Valladolid, among others.
Using accessible, familiar language and avoiding technical jargon, "Telling Music" seeks to promote the enjoyment of classical music through guided understanding, so that the public can gain a more concrete perception of the different stylistic currents in the History of Music.
The series will consist of four lectures, which will be offered from September to December, where different musical contents related to the main theme of each talk will be broken down. We will be able to delve into different aesthetics and styles, and thus provide a broader and more global vision of the orchestral repertoire, while humanizing the composers and making the great works of the history of music more understandable, providing small tips that make them more accessible.
