In the heart of the Sierra de Francia and on a hillside that faces noon, this beautiful town rises, declared a Historic Site in 2016.

Its natural environment, surrounded by mountains and dominated by oak, chestnut and undergrowth, makes this small municipality a special place. It is crossed by the San Benito river and the Francia river, in addition to various streams.

Seen from above, the distribution of their houses and buildings is striking, a perfectly closed enclosure with considerable interior space, the so-called "huertitas", which can only be accessed from the houses themselves or through the three "alleys" , that allow their neighbors to cross the town without making as much detour.

If you like to walk, be sure to do the Camino de los Prodigios, which connects the town with the neighboring Miranda del Castañar among strawberry trees, oaks and works of art.
