On Thursday , July 15 , in the Zuloaga Gardens in Segovia , at 10:00 p.m.
The church of San Nicolás, in Villafranca del Bierzo (Leon) , will host the third concert, on Friday , July 16 at 9:30 p.m.
The Mercado Chico square, in Ávila , will be the scene of the tour on Saturday , July 17 at 9:30 p.m.;
Plaza del Trigo in Aranda de Duero (Burgos) will host the concert on Sunday , July 18 at 9:30 p.m.
On Monday , July 19 , 'Plazas Sinfónicas' will arrive at the Patio Chico in Salamanca at 9:30 p.m.
On Tuesday , July 20 , at 9:30 p.m., the concert will be held in the patio of the IES Antonio Machado de Soria .
The Palacio de la Isla in Burgos will host the tour on Wednesday , July 21 at 9:30 p.m.;
The patio of the Hospedería de San Benito is the setting chosen for the concert in Valladolid , on Saturday , July 24 at 9:45 p.m.
On Sunday , July 25 , at 9:30 p.m., the tour will reach the central patio of the Royal Crystal Factory of La Granja in the Royal Site of San Ildefonso (Segovia).
On Monday , July 26 at 9:30 p.m. in the Plaza Mayor of Benavente (Zamora).
On Tuesday , July 27 , at 9:30 p.m., in the San Zoilo meadow of Carrión de los Condes (Palencia).
All concerts are organized by the Junta de Castile and León and are carried out in collaboration with the city councils of the cities and towns involved, the result of the combined efforts between the different administrations.
Wide and varied repertoire
The 'Plazas Sinfónicas' program presents a wide repertoire, with a variety of works and authors, so that the concerts are presented with a varied and accessible program for all audiences. The repertoire of the 'Plazas Sinfónicas' program will consist of works such as 'The Marriage of Figaro' and 'Symphony No. 25 [1st movement]' by WA Mozart; Symphony No. 92 [2nd movement] by J. Haydn; the 'Symphony No. 4 [2nd movement]' and 'Symphony no. 4 [4th mov.]' by F. Mendelssohn and the 'Czech Suite [Polka]' and the 'Symphony in D [4th mov.]' by Antonín Dvo¿ák.
By Edvard Grieg, the OSCyL will perform 'Peer Gynt Suite n. 1 [mov. 1 and 3]' while by JC Arriaga, it will be 'Symphony No. 8 [3rd movement]', also, from 'The Italian in Algiers – Overture' by Gioachino Rossini.
José Luis López Antón, director
The 12 concerts of the OSCyL 'Plazas Sinfónicas' tour will be conducted by José Luis López Antón, considered one of the most brilliant and charismatic promises of the new generation of orchestra conductors in Spain. Currently, he is the principal and artistic director of the Avila Symphony Orchestra (OSAV). José Luis López Antón has already conducted the Castile and León Symphony Orchestra on previous occasions.
In past seasons, López Antón has conducted various orchestras in Spain such as the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (ORTVE), the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) in the young conductors program, the Navarra Symphony Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica del Principality of Asturias (OSPA), the Malaga Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Cecilia Classical Orchestra, the Castellón Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and the COSCyL Contemporary Music Ensemble, among others.
