Reservoir of Compuerto
This is one of the two reservoirs that control the waters of the Carrión river, which were built with a gap of 30 years between themselves. The reservoir of Compuerto is the most modern, was built in 1960 and is located a short distance from Camporredondo’s dam and is set within the Protected Natural Area of Fuentes Carrionas.
It is part, together with the Camporredondo reservoir and other three in the Pisuerga river, of the so-called 'Ruta de los Pantanos' located in the Palentina mountain, offering to tourists a different idea to discover a beautiful landscape inside Palencia.
