Miranda de Ebro lies in the north-east of the province of Burgos, divided by the river from which it takes its name. The Ebro traces the line between the districts of Allende and Aquende, both of which were once walled.

The churches of San Nicolás and San Juan, Casa Fuerte and the Jurisdiction Column, as well as the Carlos III Bridge and several fine examples of traditional architecture are all worthy of their status as Assets of Cultural Interest. The Historic Site of Miranda de Ebro offers visitors the chance to admire a fine example of a medieval town.
