Five brotherhoods and three guilds commemorate Holy Week in Aranda de Duero, proclaiming their faith from Friday of Sorrows to Easter Sunday. A Lenten season that begins on Palm Sunday with the procession known as "La Borriquilla" (The Little Donkey).

The first of the processions is held on Holy Monday, when two images are brought out onto the streets; the procession known as ’El Encuentro’ (The Meeting) takes place on Holy Tuesday, following by the Sermon on Wednesday, whilst on Holy Thursday, the procession called ’El Silencio’ makes its way, silently, as the name implies, around the streets. Yet the most spectacular events are held on Good Friday, with the sermon and ceremony known as "El Descendimiento" (The Descent) and the "la Bajada del Ángel" (Descent of the Angel), which takes place on Easter Sunday.

A Holy Week characterised by deep faith and worship, which undoubtedly lie at the heart of the Holy Week celebrations in this town.
