It was King Juan II's palace once; it became later on, and is still at present, a convent for the Augustinian order, an order which was joined by several bastard daughters of the Kings Fernando el Católico, Carlos I or Juan de Austria. Birthplace of Isabel la Católica.

Besides being a convent, part of the old palace would later become the Hospital de la Concepción. The convent was built from the 15th century onwards. We can still appreciate the Renaissance salons, the majestic staircase and the court room with a coffered ceiling of Mudejar style from the 15th century.
