The tower is one of the town's landmarks
Church of Santa María de la Antigua
Contains Romanesque elements such as the tower and the north cloister, of the 13th century. The tower is one of the town's landmarks.
It stands at the foot of the church and is accessed from the inside. The arches are decorated with nail heads. The tower preserves the pyramidal cover, with the gill-shaped roof. The tower follows the Lombardy model.
The cloister is similar to Las Huelgas, in Burgos. It is located on the north side of the building, with panoramic views over the nearby river Esgueva. The Romanesque structure was demolished in the 14th century, leaving only the tower and the portico.
