It was built in the 15th century by Pedro González de Mendoza y Luna, Lord of Almazán and first Count of Monteagudo, Guarda Mayor of Enrique IV. In the main staircase there is still an opening in the form of a window in the purest Isabelline style. Given its size and the frame at ground level, we may deduce that this was the original entrance door to this floor.

The most recent part of the Renaissance façade closes off on one side to the Plaza Mayor, forming a corner with the church of San Miguel. In the central part, the superposition of the main balcony and the façade, giving it an interesting classical air.
