A tradition attributes the construction of this building to the soldiers monks of the order of the Temple. Apparently, it was monastery, as it is quoted in the year 1200, when noble Pela Martinez gave it to the Abbey of Aguilar.

Today, the temple looks an attractive image in the midst of the meadows, with its semicircular headboard, vaulted nave, and at the foot, the base of what the Tower was once, all of them of the XII century. It has a remarkable set of capitals and stylized corbels with representations of animals, fantastic beings, characters in erotic attitude or musicians.
