The tower was ordered to build in the early XVI century by the ancestors of the Salinas, the Salazar and the Hurtado de Mendoza. It has two floors and low roof, and construction material is stone, ashlar in the corners, and the rest of the building is slab, a material that is so abundant in the area giving name to the region.
