Tower of Villanoño
In this municipality of Burgos, we find a remarkable tower which is located to the South of the town centre. The access to the small fort is located in the courtyard of the palace which is attached to it by its southwest side. Also called Tower of the Marquina, looks slender with over 15 metres of height and 8 metres of square plant.
It is dated from the XIV or XV centuries, in its blazon, already of XVII century; we find the recorded arms of three important families of Burgos: Varona, Angulo, and Salazar. It is a building of great interest which has not carried well over the years but that still looks like a symbol of splendour.
