The church, with a single nave and two chapels, is present by its monumental bell tower from the 16th century, restored in 2021, with a solid low body of stone and the upper floors of brick, lightened with numerous windows. The statue of the Sacred Heart rests on its dome. Inside, apart from its ribbed vault over the presbytery, the main Renaissance altarpiece is of interest, consisting of multiple carved scenes. It was the work of the French artist Jacques Bernard, who chiseled it in 1542, in collaboration with various disciples. Twenty years later it was polychromed by the Carrancejas de León. It has been meticulously restored in 1999. Among all those of its style, this sculptural group is one of the most valuable and admirable in the entire province.
