These celebrations are of a very religious character, and consist of a Mozarabic mass presided by the bishop of Palencia. For the occasion all the texts and music of the Hispanic-Visigoth-Mozarab rites are collected, to be appreciated by all the guests in the incredible setting of the basilica of San Juan de Baños, a Visigoth building of the 7th century. The construction of the basilica was ordered by the Gothic King of Toledo, Recesvinto, who thanks to the waters of the nearby fountain was cured of an illness.
