It is located in the old Convent of San Francisco. It has a sample of some 250 pieces of art, miniatures, porcelains, engravings, paintings, sculptures and codices of various authors and donated by Valeriano Salas, to the City Council.

Valeriano Salas was the director of the Spanish Geographic Magazines, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and his work gave him the opportunity to travel around the world acquiring an important artistic collection.

The Museum is made up of three rooms, one for painting, another arranged like a collector's cabinet and the third houses an old apothecary from the s. XIX.
