Sardonal Apiaries
Set of 16 apiaries, located on a very steep slope in the town of Fonfría, Torre del Bierzo Town Hall, adapted to the return or departure flight of bees and sunny, facing south-southeast, quiet, away from farmland and of pasture land where domestic animals could browse, with very close water courses, permanent streams, in a canonical location for this type of construction.
Enclosures with a circular, oblong or oval plan, some of them in the shape of a horseshoe and some possibly square. Several of them still have their wooden access doors and even the "truebones" or beehives, obtained from hollow trunks.
This set of apiaries is a group that goes beyond the norms for the use of this type of facilities, almost always isolated constructions or, at most, close to a few dozen meters, the number of which rarely exceeds 2 or 3, hence the singularity of the group, certainly strange, since its proximity could give rise to "competition" between the bees, hence its grouping or proximity between them is rare.
