The original church was mozarabic and romanesque, and was started in 802. The nave and the gothic cloister, dating from 1342, are the earliest parts that have been preserved. the front dates from the 18th century. The 19th-century tower is neo-classical.

It housed the bishopric between 804 and 1087, and nearby stands a tower dating from the first half of the 15th century.
