Fundado por Alfonso VIII para acoger a los peregrinos que iban a Compostela en el siglo XII y como asistencia a enfermos, bajo la jurisdicción de la abadesa de las Huelgas. Conserva la entrada o patio de romeros, obra plateresca del siglo XVI.

The Pilgrims' courtyard leads to the church, whose doors show pilgrims before Saint James (16th century).The church has a few interesting paintings and a beautiful carved door. Nowadays it houses the Faculty of Law of the University of Burgos.
