It was commissioned by the Sarmientos family at the beginning of the 16th century.The architectural project was carried out by Don Luis Arranz Algueró. Owes its name to the franciscan cordon which decorates the stone gate and surrounds the two coats-of- arms. Now, it houses Museo de Palencia.
