One of the most symbolic celebrations of winter are the carnivals and in the province of Leon there are two with special uniqueness due to the genuine costumes and the nature of the characters, in addition to the ritual that is staged. These are those of Llamas de la Ribera and those of Velilla de la Reina, whose origins remain an enigma.
