Getaway through the Palencia region of La Valdivia
- Position
- Revilla de Pomar
Autumn is the ideal time to visit the Páramo de la Lora, the Covalagua valley, the Valcabado viewpoint and the only visitable cave in the province of Palencia. The Cueva de los Franceses owes its name to the fact that it was the last resting place of the combatants who died in a confrontation that occurred in these areas during the War of Independence. It welcomes a modern building known as "The Rock" where it is possible to admire an exhibition about the cave and the surroundings of the Palentina Mountain, also being the entrance door to the cavity. Its interior surprises with the wonderful karst formations and the modern lighting system.
