Edu, an unemployed truck driver, and Ana, his ex-wife, unexpectedly reunite after a terrible accident leaves her quadriplegic. Juan, a brilliant PhD student with cerebral palsy, hires Yanis, the daughter of Serbo-Croatian immigrants, as his assistant. Yanis, the daughter of Serbo-Croatian immigrants, is struggling financially after her university studies. Both couples rightly challenge the perception we all have of people with physical disabilities and delve into how class, race, nationality, and wealth can create chasms between people, despite their longing for connection.
