On Friday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m., in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library, the Rayuela Theatre Productions
company presents its play Piedra y cuchillo; la mujer helado (Stone and Knife; The Frozen Woman), a dramatized lecture on the novel by Annie Ernaux , Nobel Prize winner in 2022.
The protagonist of The Frozen Woman is a 30-year-old teacher with a comfortable life. But she soon sees her dreams fading as she tries to balance her career with her "obligations" as a wife and mother. This is a life journey that begins in her childhood, with parents whose roles are reversed, through a youth marked by her aspirations to become a cultured, free, and independent woman, and culminates in her adulthood, as the wife of an executive and the mother of two children.
