In the novel Fahrenheit 451 , books are banned, and some people resist and save them by memorizing them. They are the book people.

This workshop aims to make book people real, but we only learn fragments of books we freely choose and share. All human beings have the ability to choose a text, found in a book, that we would have liked to write, that moves us, that accompanies us, that does us good emotionally or intellectually, in which we recognize ourselves, that we want to share; those words that express well what we feel or what is happening to us, those words that soothe us like no balm or that encourage us to continue living, that please us for their beauty, that inspire our most intimate desire… Even a child who cannot read and hears a story has the ability to choose the fragment that most moves them.

In this workshop, we'll teach you how to narrate these words so you can share them with joy and precision. Then, we'll create a group of book people in Segovia and accompany you on your journey. Who's up for it?

As for the content and methodology , since it's only an hour, I'll show you in a very practical way what it means to be a book person. In the following sessions, we'll work (in a very practical way) with the people who bring a text so they can clearly see the process and make it their own.

Antonio Rodríguez Menéndez: In 1996, he founded the Tuzla Theater Studio and the Madrid Reading School, where he investigated our way of speaking and reading and created the Palabra Linkada method, or "molten chocolate" words, which he applies to theater and education, among other fields. Based on this method, in 2003 he founded the Fahrenheit 451 Project (book people) and the volunteer reading project La voz a ti debida (The Voice Due to You). He is a professor at the School of Writers. He wrote the manifesto in defense of reading as a human right, "Letter to Europe," and is a member of the association "Because Reading is a Right."
