" Sing, O goddess, the wrath of Achilles of Pelis. " Thus begins Homer's Iliad. It seems as if anger and rage were a kind of founding energy of the West, a primordial force that tenses the threads of our history and our discourses. The goddess's duty was to transform that anger into song, and that is precisely what I invite you to explore in this session: to listen to anger in music, to feel how that ancient passion becomes sonic form and vibration. We will traverse centuries and styles—from sacred chant to opera, from symphony to the recording studio—to discover how anger is transfigured into rhythm, timbre, harmony, and verb. The selected fragments will deploy insistent ostinatos, heart-rending accents, orchestral tensions and distortions: resources that shape the impulse and transform it into art. This itinerary calls us to ask ourselves: when does that force protect, when does it wound? It invites attentive listening, capable of distinguishing limits and dignity, and of recognizing, in the echo of anger, the memory we share.
