The Valladolid East Primary Care Department is organizing a talk on vaccines and the current vaccination schedule in Castilla y León as part of the 3rd Health Week.
In this talk, nurses Rosa Verdejo and Pablo Alonso will discuss the regional vaccination schedule, emphasizing the importance of adhering to it as a disease prevention measure. In recent years, the efficacy of vaccines has been called into question, and vaccine rejection has increased, all based on arguments lacking scientific evidence. They will also discuss the vaccines recommended for other age groups and after the diagnosis of common conditions such as diabetes mellitus, all of which are offered free of charge in health centers.
Health Week is an event dedicated to promoting healthy habits and the overall well-being of the community. During the week of October 6-10, various activities, workshops, talks, and informational campaigns are held to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of one's physical, mental, and emotional health. The main objective is to promote active and responsible lifestyles, prevent diseases through education, and motivate people to adopt healthy practices, such as healthy eating, regular exercise, stress management, responsible medication use, and more. In addition, Health Week typically includes vaccination campaigns, sports activities, free medical evaluations, and awareness-raising events on topics such as mental health, responsible substance use, and personal hygiene. In short, this week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of self-care and to strengthen the community through health and well-being.
