On Saturday, November 29, at 12 p.m., pianist María Icíar Serrano Quiñones will perform this piece aimed at a family audience.

"Peter and the Wolf" is a symphonic work by the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953), which, on this occasion, we are going to listen to in a version for solo piano.
Written in 1936, the composer adapted the music to the text, including a narrator in addition to the orchestra.
Each of the pieces we are going to listen to belongs to the genre of programmatic music, which aims to evoke extra-musical ideas or images in the listener's mind, musically representing scenes, feelings, and characters.
Written with bold harmony, the pieces are full of descriptive details that imbue the scores with grace and charm, delighting the audience's ears, like a nod to our musical perception.
We are going to listen to several pieces in the form of a Piano Suite, which are the symphonic version for a single musical instrument.
Each piece represents a character or situation, very easy to recognize.
