On Wednesday, November 12th at 6:00 PM, we will enjoy the storytelling "Valeria" by Zolopotroko in our Children's Room for families (ages 4 to 9).

"Valeria" is an exhibition about the story of the same name that the MUSOL Foundation (Municipalists for Solidarity and Institutional Strengthening) brings to our library.

Valeria, a Guatemalan girl, is the protagonist of the story, and her experience serves as an educational and sensitive way to address the challenges that communities in many parts of the world face regarding access to clean water and sanitation.

Access to safe and affordable drinking water is an essential human right, critical to preventing serious diseases and infections such as cholera and typhus, especially in children. Women and children, moreover, spend considerable time collecting water in these countries, which undermines their school attendance and education, thus fueling social inequalities and poverty.
