On Monday, November 17th, at 7 p.m., a lecture by José María Merino.

Writer and academic from León. He is the author of poetry, novels, short stories, microfiction, and essays. *Birthday Away From Home* (2006) is a collection of his poetry.
His longer narrative works include Novela de Andrés Choz (1976, Novelas y Cuentos Prize), La orilla oscura (1985, National Critics' Prize 1986), Las visiones de Lucrecia (1996, Miguel Delibes Prize), El heredero (2003, Ramón Gómez de la Serna Narrative Prize 2004), El lugar sin culpa (2006, Gonzalo Torrente Ballester Narrative Prize), El río del Edén (2013, National Narrative Prize and Castilla y León Critics' Prize), Museo Décima (2016) and La novela imposible (2022).
His 50 stories and a fable contain his books of stories published up to 1997 and Stories from the other place (2010) those published up to 2004, to which are added The gazebo of the fugitives (2008), The book of the numbered hours (2011), The hidden plot (2014), Adventures and inventions of Professor Souto (2017), Tales of nature (2018) and News from the Anthropocene (2021).
His complete microfiction up to 2007 is included in La glorieta de los fugitivos (2007, Salambó Prize for Narrative in Spanish) and his essays can be read in Ficción continua (1994), Ficción perpetua (2014) and La realidad desdibujada (2017), and we must not forget his literary journey that he proposes to us in A través del Quijote (2019), which becomes a Cervantine enterprise with the mixture of essays, stories, micro-stories and poems.
