On Tuesday, December 23rd , at 12:00 pm , in the Auditorium of the Palencia Public Library , we invite you to spend Christmas with us and with Baychimo Teatro
who will present their fun play All His Little Ducks, based on the book of the same title by authors Christian Duda and Julia Friese.
This is the story of Konrad the fox and Lorenz, the duckling who finds himself in his egg under the belly of his mother, a duck, deep in the forest. Konrad actually wants to eat the duck, but she takes flight, abandoning her egg. No matter, Konrad likes scrambled eggs too... However, the little duckling hatches in time, looks around, and excitedly greets the fox: "Mommy, Mommy!" "No, Daddy!" Konrad corrects him. And since a father can't eat his child, Konrad's stomach continues to protest, hungry. Time passes, and Lorenz falls in love with Emma the duck, and what has to happen, happens... Konrad thinks less and less about eating roast duck, while a large group of ducks grows up around him, eventually taking over the forest.
It might seem like one of those stories where two species, supposedly enemies, end up becoming friends by overcoming their differences; but All Her Ducklings goes much further. The characters have depth, they evolve, they make mistakes, and they make decisions.
