The Mayorga Habanera Festival is an annual event that, over the years, has become a national cultural landmark within the habanera genre, a musical style of Cuban origin that is not very common in Spain. Each edition brings together artists, specialists, and enthusiasts who find in Mayorga a unique space to enjoy and celebrate the richness of this musical tradition.

Mayorga's connection to the habanera has a long history , strengthened by the continuity of the Trovada, whose origins date back to 1993 , and the tireless work of the City Council together with the Teresa Pérez Daniel Habanera Foundation , active since 2008. This foundation was created with the purpose of contributing to the appreciation, dissemination, exchange, and research of the musical legacy of the habanera, with the aim of making Mayorga a center of reference for this genre and projecting its importance beyond the local sphere.
